Current Prayer Needs:
  • Beginning this month, all Thyolo District T4T (Training for Trainers) groups will be "on their own." Because the Brownfields will depart soon for stateside assignment, they have handed over all T4T leadership responsibilities into the hands of "faithful men [and women] who will teach others also." Pray that our Malawian brothers and sisters will continue to faithfully meet, evangelize and learn Scripture during the Brownfields' absence. Pray that gifted new leaders will emerge from these groups.
  • From April 13th-18th, missionary Bob Brownfield will be in the remote easternmost portion of LomweLand, near the Indian Ocean coastline. After nearly a decade of work among the Lomwe within Malawi, Bob and Pam have been prayerfully seeking the Lord's will in moving to a part of their ministry area (within Mozambique) that has little to no evangelical presence. Pray that Bob will see the area through the eyes of Christ, and will begin to get a feel for the Brownfields' next phase of ministry.
  • April 25th and 26th, an important teacher training workshop will be held for all Thyolo church leaders. Pastor T, whom you have prayed for in the past, will lead this event at Zoa in the southern part of the district. This workshop is being led and sponsored only by indigenous churches, with no input or funding from the missionaries. Pray for the success of this event, and pray that the leaders will increase their vision to grow in cooperation for the sake of spreading the gospel.
  • Even though the remote Kokola People still do not have a missionary from any agency, God is doing great things through your prayers. "M" [Mundavinyo], a Mozambican Kokola man, is full of the joy of the Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit! "M" was born again just a few years ago after brand new KokolaLand believers from the Malawi side of the river shared the gospel with him. He shared what he knew of Christ first in his own village, then in surrounding villages. Now, in addition to the preaching point in his own village, "M" has started preaching points in 3 other villages! He has been taught and encouraged by volunteers from US churches, by Pastor "K" [Kantunda] and by missionary Bob Brownfield from the adjacent Lomwe People Group. Last month, the preaching point in his home village selected him as their official leader, and sent him to begin Bible School at the Malawi border. Ask the Lord to increase "M"'s vision for reaching lost people in the remote Mozambique portion of KokolaLand.
